REZONING REQUEST

Analysis:

This property is located within the Town of Apex’s jurisdiction and is zoned Office and Institutional Conditional Use. The owner of the property has requested annexation and rezoning concurrently into the Town of Cary. The rezoning is from Town Apex Office and Institutional to Town of Cary Planned Employment Center. The tract lies adjacent to MacGregor Office and Industrial Park and contains 5.88 acres. The Town’s land use plan does not designate any future land use for this parcel due to the property being within Apex’s jurisdiction. The owner of the property, American Airlines, has used this site for an existing parking lot for their reservation center in MacGregor Park. The following is an evaluation of the pros and cons of this request:
