PROJECT TITLE: NC-540 Western Wake Parkway Water Conflicts

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This project provides for the relocation, lowering, encasement, and other modifications of existing water lines within the NC-540 corridor between US-64 in Apex and NC-55 near the Durham county line. The project also provides for the installation of new water lines as needed within this area. The FY 2009 appropriation of $3,641,460 fully supports the NC-540 Western Wake Parkway Water Conflict project with no additional funding requests anticipated. PROJECT JUSTIFICATION: The water utilities described within the noted geographic area are sited via a North Carolina Department of Transportation encroachment agreement with the Town of Cary. These water lines and their locations must be adjusted/modified before construction of the Western Wake Parkway begins.
