Business Community Service Award Winner; |
A native of Fullerton California where he
lived for 18 years, Don Frantz settled in Cary in 1992 after a brief stay in
South Hill, Virginia. For Don, Cary offered the perfect blend of the
conveniences he enjoyed in a Southern California city with the close proximity
of nature he loved in the Virginia countryside.
It’s in Cary that Don met and married his
lovely wife, Lisa, and Cary is where they decided to raise their six children as
well as start their small business – Frantz Automotive. Like so many in this
community, for Don, family is the center of his life in Cary.
As a downtown resident, businessman, and
overall booster, Don has served two terms as President of the Heart of Cary
Association. His small business background gives him firsthand experience with
many of the challenges facing business today as well as the role good customer
service plays in any organization’s success. A member of the National
Federation of Independent Business owners and Cary Chamber of Commerce, Don
works hard at supporting both Cary’s business community and that of our region.
Don’s Town government service includes
appointments to the Planning & Zoning Board as well as the Citizen Budget Review
Commission. He was elected as the Town Council District B representative in 2007
and has a keen interest in being the voice of “old Cary”.
Don’s priorities include maintaining Cary’s
small town charm and feel as our community continues to grow, protecting our
environment, providing good jobs through effective economic development
initiatives, and continuing to build strong relationships with governments
throughout the region.
For Don, government must be focused on
working for and respecting the citizens it serves.
