INVITATION TO BID

 

TOWN OF CARY

Cary, North Carolina

 

            Sealed proposals will be received by the Town of Cary at the office of the Engineering Department, 316 North Academy Street, Cary, North Carolina until Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. and thereafter immediately opened and read publicly for the furnishing of materials, labor, and equipment for the construction of Wellingborough Drive and Forest Park Way – Connemara Drive Traffic Calming, Project No. ST1107.  (Approximate quantities involved are or brief project description is) as follows:

 

± 1350 Linear Feet of Median Curb and Gutter

± 40 Linear Feet of Standard Curb and Gutter

± 1335 Square Yards of Asphalt Removal

± 245 Cubic Yards of Borrow Excavation

± 1160 Linear Feet of Thermoplasitc Pavement Markings

Related Curb and Gutter Removal, Earthwork, Sidewalk Construction, Seeding and Mulching and Traffic Control  

 

            Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be seen at  http://townofcary.contractorsplanroom.com upon registering online, at the office of the Director of Engineering, Cary Town Hall; the Associated General Contractors, Raleigh office; McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge, Morrisville office; the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development, Durham office; and the Cary office of CDC News; after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2008.

 

            Copies of Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be obtained after 9:00a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at the office of the Engineering Department, 316 North Academy Street, Cary, North Carolina upon non-refundable payment of $15 per set in cash or check.  A postage and handling charge of $5 will be added for any items which are mailed.

 

            Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina.   A Town of Cary Privilege License in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes is required for award of the project.  All bids must include a non-collusive affidavit.

 

            Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.  The Town of Cary reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
