INVITATION TO BID

 

TOWN OF CARY

            Sealed proposals will be received by the Town of Cary at the office of the Engineering Department, 316 N. Academy St., Cary, N.C. until Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. and thereafter immediately opened and read publicly for the furnishing of materials, labor, and equipment for the construction of 2008 Street Improvements, Project No. ST-1171.  Approximate quantities involved are as follows:

 

±  110,530 SY   SF9.5A Asphalt Surface Course Overlay - 1-¼” depth

±    25,290 SY   S9.5B Asphalt Surface Course Overlay - 1-½” depth

±    71,280 SY   Asphalt Surface Treatment, Straight Seal (78M)

±      2,270 SY   Full Depth Pavement Removal - 4” depth

±           11 EA   Removal and Replacement of Speed Hump/Raised

    Crosswalks

 

 

            Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be seen at http://townofcary.contractorsplanroom.com upon registering online, at the office of the Director of Engineering, Cary Town Hall; the Associated General Contractors, Raleigh office; McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge, Morrisville office; the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development, Durham office; and the Cary office of CDC News; after 1 p.m. on May 1, 2008.  The Town of Cary is not responsible for bidders relying on incomplete bid documents.

 

            Copies of Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be obtained after 1 p.m. on May 1, 2008 at the office of the Engineering Department, 316 N. Academy St., Cary, N.C. upon non-refundable payment of $25 per set in cash or check. A postage and handling charge of $5 will be added for any items which are mailed.

 

            Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. A Town of Cary Privilege License in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes is required for award of the project. All bids must include a non-collusive affidavit.

 

            Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.

 

            The Town of Cary reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
