19 - Town Council asks staff to begin planning a general obligation bond referendum for April 8, 2003

December
12 - Town Council votes on a resolution directing staff to make application to the Local Government Commission

January
14 & 15 - Town staff members hold two public information sessions on bond financing and get feedback on preferred projects at 6:30 p.m. in Town Council Chambers, 316 N. Academy St.

23 - Town Council adopts a resolution stating the amount of the bonds. Council votes on setting a bond order public hearing for Feb. 13, 2003

February
13 - Town Council holds a public hearing on the bond orders and votes on a resolution to formally prepare the ballot and hold the election on April 8, 2003

24 - Town staff members begin speaking by appointment to neighborhoods, civic groups and professional associations about the upcoming election.

March
Town staff members continue throughout the month speaking by appointment to neighborhoods,
civic groups and professional associations about the upcoming election.

10 - Beginning date to request an absentee ballot to be mailed. (No excuse required)

14 - Last day to register, change your party affiliation or your address. Voter registration form must be postmarked or hand-delivered to Wake County Board of Elections by this date.

20 - One-Stop Voting begins - (No excuse required)

April
1 - Last day to request a mail-out absentee ballot. (5 p.m. deadline)

5 - One-Stop Voting ends at 1 p.m.

7 - All voted absentee ballots must be in the Wake County Board of Elections office by 5 p.m.

8 - Election (Polls open 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.)

11 - Board canvass of election results at 11 a.m.
