As you may know, Cary citizens will be asked to vote on four important issues in a special bond referendum on Tuesday, February 2, 1999. The total amount of the referendum will be about $149 million and will cover major additions and improvements to Cary's roadways, parks, an aquatic center and the water system.

During the last year, members of our community have voiced their support of the Town's address of such needs. In fact, a Council-appointed citizen group, the Growth Management Task Force, spent several months and thousands of hours looking closely at the Town's current status and making important recommendations to Council and staff regarding our collective needs. Town staff has determined that general obligation bond funding is the most economical way to make the appropriate improvements as well as meet increased state and federal regulatory requirements.

In this regard, we at the Town of Cary would like the opportunity to be a part of your organization's January calendar so that we can bring information to your group about the February referendum. At your request, we would be happy to provide speakers for your meetings or articles for your newsletters outlining the bond package and answering questions about the details of the proposed projects.

To discuss a presentation, please call the Town at 469-4007 or Email us at townofcary@ci.cary.nc.us

We look forward to your participation in this process.
