UTILITY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT The board meets on an as needed basis. During months where meetings are required, they are approximately two hours in length, which includes the meeting and any review time. Public Notices will be prepared prior to any meeting of this Board. Please see the Town of Cary Calendar to confirm meeting dates, times, and locations. The Utility Board of Adjustment approves or denies requests for adjustments to billed water, sewer, reconnection, late payment penalty and/or meter testing fee based upon a determination that Town policies were correctly or incorrectly applied. The Utility Board of Adjustment consists of five members appointed by the Town Council, one of whom the Town Council designates as chairperson. Members are appointed from within Cary's corporate limits. All appointments to the board are for three-year terms, except where unexpired terms are being filled. Applications are accepted each year from September 1 through December 1 for upcoming vacancies for the following year. Current Town of Cary employees are not eligible to volunteer.
