Approval of the April 12, 2006 Meeting Minutes

Motion to approve made by Ms. Katherine Oury, and second by Mr. Richard Redfoot.  Minutes were approved by an unanimously vote of 6-0.

Policy Statement 150:  Rules of Procedure for Town of Cary Board & Commissions

Wayne Nicholas, Principal Planner, provided a general overview of the underlining policies and procedures which govern the Town Center Review Commission.  

Staff will be responsible for drafting Town Center Review Commission bylaws.  Upon completion, draft will be supplied to commission members for review.

06-SP-043:  West Chatham Townhomes 

Mr. Redfoot made a motion to recommend the plan to Town Council for approval with the following considerations:

• Elevations to include additional breaks in the roofline per the Downtown Design Guidelines through use of building materials and design features.
• An additional recreation component on site.
• Site to provide pedestrian access to downtown area
• Re-routing of traffic to prevent adverse effects.

Ms. Oury seconded the motion.

After further discussion amongst Commission members, Mr. Redfoot amended  his initial motion to forward the plan to Town Council for approval based ONLY on the following conditions:

• An additional recreation component on site.
• Site to provide pedestrian access to downtown area

Ms. Oury seconded the motion.

The Commission voted unanimous approval, 6-0.
