Approval of the November 30, 2005 Meeting Minutes

 

Motion to approve made by Ms. Oury, and seconded by Mr. Redfoot.  Mr. Harned voiced concern in lack of information.  Ms. Oury and Mr. Redfoot withdrew their initial motions.  Dr. Harned will contact, Tara Adams, staff lesion regarding the input of additional information.  Commission will revisit approval of November minutes at the next scheduled meeting.

A.

Elect Vice Chairperson

A nomination of Ms. Hutcheson as Vice Chairperson to the commission made by Mr. Harned.  Motion seconded by Ms. Oury.

The Commission voted unanimous approval, 7-0.

B.

 

 

Town’s 2007 Fiscal Year Budget

  • Scott Fogleman, Budget Director for the Town of Cary, solicited input and ideas from Commission members regarding the Budget for the 2007 Fiscal Year.

Suggestions:

  •  Implement a Sustainable Design Assessment Team within Cary

Commission will meet next month to vote on this suggestion after further information has been provided.

  • Use of fencing around the Dog Park as space for possible advertisement; have the Dog Park pay for itself

  • Raise taxes

  • Façade Improvement Program for downtown area

  • Website to be devoted to Downtown development

  • More funding for Downtown development, streets, libraries, art, environmental and stormwater management for sites grandfathered in

  • Bonds for Downtown

Commission requests a Long Range Planner to be present in April to discuss the Town’s future plans in the downtown area, as well as funding for potential development.
