Call to Order:

Approval of the minutes of the December 17, 2001 meeting.

Board voted (10-0) to approve the minutes.

Item 3

Town Council Report

Town Council meeting of January 17, 2001

Item 4 Item to be tabled:
01-REZ-021 – Sears Farm PUD - Request to table this rezoning until the February Planning & Zoning Board meeting. Board voted (10 to 0) to table this rezoning until the next Planning and Zoning Board.

Item 5

Site/Subdivision Plans for Action:

01-SP-138 Volvo of Cary

Board voted (6 to 4) to forward to Council for approval of site plan on a technical basis at their February 14, 2002 meeting with Staffs’ recommendations.

Board voted (10 to 0) that this is not an appropriate use for this site and that the B-2 zoning is inappropriate adjacent to the single family residential.

01-SP-178 North Cary Water Reclamation Facility Expansion (NCWRF)

Board voted (10 to 0) to forward to Council for approval at their February 14, 2002 meeting with Staff’s recommendations.

Item 6 Ordinance Amendments:
EN02-48B Town of Cary Stormwater Plan for New Development Board voted (10 to 0) to forward to Council for approval at their February 14, 2002 meeting provided that Section 14.6.4 regarding vesting rights only applies to new development plans and that common law vesting would still apply to previously approved development plans.

Item 7

New/Old Business:  

West Cary Land Use Plan update A brief overview of this planning effort was provided.
Orientation Session Topics for the Board’s upcoming orientation session was discussed. In addition, membership in the American Planning Association was requested by all Board members and additional information was requested on the state’s planning conference.
