Public Art Advisory Board

Meets 3rd Wednesday of each month at  6:15 p.m. Meetings are approximately two hours in length and may require additional study time to review materials prior to the meeting. Please see the Town of Cary Calendar to confirm meeting dates, times, and locations.

The Public Art Advisory Board provides advice and recommendations to Town Council and staff on all matters relating to the administration, acquisition, and inclusion of public artworks in Cary. The board reviews and makes recommendations regarding potential projects and assists staff in drafting a public art ordinance. This board advises Council and staff regarding implementation of the Public Art Master Plan (Executive Summary). Members are required to attend monthly meetings and may serve on specific project subcommittees.

The Public Art Advisory Board consists of nine members appointed by Town Council with representation from local visual arts organizations, working artists, architects, private development community and the general public. All appointments to the commission are for three-year terms, except where unexpired terms are being filled.  More information on this board can be found in its Annual Report and/or Goals.

Applications are accepted each year from September 1 through December 1 for upcoming vacancies for the following year. Current Town of Cary employees are not eligible to volunteer.
