I’d like to see more ‘movement’
(shapes less static). (Dancer background) |
|
Pat Hudson |

New Cary Elementary is
contemporary – transition between. Not into sparkling. Like the changes with
light. Tie in the design to relate to the round-about. |
|
Smythe Richbourg |
1.003 |
Great idea to focus on
these three areas (fly tower, lobby, north plaza). Prismatic effect with
sun/light? Movement with the wind? |
|
Ginger Hayes |
1.004 |
Why a white box? I prefer
bronze tones. I like the diamond pattern, changes of color, and use
of texture. |
|
Gray Rinehart |
1.005 |
I love the models! Not a
fan of color or physical projections. Projection of events or art onto the
surface is good idea. I like texture without pattern. |
|
Kayee Au |
1.006 |
I like the diamond
pattern and color. (Studied color theory.) Suggest primary colors – red,
blue, yellow – for mix happening on certain parts of the day to be unique. |
|
Lejandro Deramos |
1.007 |
Colors on fly tower
should coordinate with the ones used in the SolarCaps (at the north
plaza) |

Don’t like the fish
aquarium. I like high texture with shadow effect. Needs to weave into the addition at the
west architecturally as well. Materials
need to be chosen for long-term stability. I see birds nesting in the
projections and droppings staining. Must not look like an industrial building
placed behind the old building. (Clarification of views from Academy, |

Will it be dated in 15
yrs? Needs to be timeless to 25 years. I like the glass bringing color, but
the projections are trendy (mid last century – 80s/90s). Don’t like the
sparkling idea. Interested in the solar issues that change with the seasons
and the two walls that get public view (east and south.) Perhaps vertical
glass wall or panels (similar to those in the lobby idea) would give shimmer
and glow and be consistent with concepts elsewhere. |
|
Eric Forehand |
1.011 |
Historic tie-in good
idea. Should not compete with the round-about. |
|
Carol Aupperle |
1.012 |
I’m not loving it. I
understand the old and the new idea. I like the color. I see triangles in the
model, not diamonds (ref. ring.) White? Mortar color! We have tons of
horizontal spaces and elements. Why use triangles here? |

Lobby Comments |

Like the glass wall idea.
Transition from red to blue is cool. Glass treads on the stair are
nifty. |
|
Kayee Au |
1.014 |
Color ideas are good. Can
you see through the stair treads? That would be disconcerting. |

I like the glass concept,
but not to be totally opaque. Not transparent either. It can become alive by
glimpses through it – visual and shadows and movement. |
|
Charles Rankin |
1.018 |
I like the glass and
having it at the front door as well. I like the color transition. |
|
Eric Forehand |
1.019 |
I like the concept too.
The tread colors should transition with the wall. |
|
Carol Aupperle |
1.020 |
I’m feeling the glass. |
|
Ginger Castle |
1.021 |
Not what I would have
expected in the lobby. |
|
Pat Hudson |
1.022 |
I like the glass. We are
micro-analyzing this. |
|
Smythe Richbourg |
1.023 |
I like the glass. I like
the concession wall(s) idea. It would be nice if the front wall interacted
with the back wall and the sides as well. Composition. The idea of
a master plan and providing infrastructure gets an A+ from me. |
|
Ginger Hayes |
1.024 |
Seems very contemporary
inside. Not primary colors. I like warm. |
|
Gray Rinehart |
1.025 |
It opens and unfolds. |
|
Carl Regutti |
1.026 |
Can change the colors of
the wall with lights. |

Plaza Comments |

Pat Hudson |

Wellspring image is good.
Water – yes! Love the boulder to lie on. SolarCaps – no! |
|
Smythe Richbourg |
1.028 |
Hardscape good. Water
integration with handicap access. Beautiful integration with water
run-off and tie into park across the street with water and brick designs.
Remember we have skateboarders! |
|
Ginger Hayes |
1.029 |
Love the brick plaza. Don’t
need the lighting. If you do, it should be white. SolarCaps: not a
fan of random colors or placement. Love the enlarged porch! |
|
Gray Rinehart |
1.030 |
This is my favorite part!
White lights, if at all; not scattered. |
|
Kayee Au |
1.031 |
I like it too. I like the
colored lights. Maybe a pattern of color and white? |
|
Lejandro Deramos |
1.032 |
Would like to see
symmetrical design. Will there be benches? |
|
Gale Adcock |
