Review Artist
Recommendation for
o
The final meeting to select an artist for the
o
The two artist finalists were Norie
Sato and the team of Jim Hirschfield & Sonya Ishii. Prior to the interview, the artists proposed
forming a team. Staff agreed with this
approach provided the total contract fee remained the same and the Town would
contract with one artist, who would then subcontract the remainder of the team.
While accepting this approach the Artist Selection Panel decided to go ahead
with the phone interviews. The panel
reported that the team approach would afford the best approach to this project.
o
The Artist Selection Panel recommends to the Public Art
Advisory Board to hire Norie Sato, who will contract
with Jim Hirschfield, Sonya Ishii, and collectively these artists will be the
artist team to join the Design Team with Clearscapes.
ACTION: Pat Hudson made a motion to accept the
recommendation from the Artist Selection Panel. Elizabeth Ray seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
