PARKS, RECREATION & CULTURAL RESOURCES ADVISORY BOARD

Meets 1st Monday of each month at 5:15 p.m. (requires approximately two hours per month for the monthly meetings, and volunteer time at major festivals and events). Please see the Town of Cary Calendar to confirm meeting dates, times, and locations.

The mission of the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board is to provide representation for the citizens of Cary in partnership with the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department and the Town Council in promoting understanding, appreciation, participation and support for open spaces, parks, recreational opportunities, cultural activities, programs and facilities.  

The Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Board consists of ten members appointed by the Town Council, one of whom the Town Council designates as chairperson.  Members are appointed from within Cary's corporate limits. All appointments to the board are for three-year terms, except where unexpired terms are being filled.  More information on this board can be found in its Annual Report and/or Goals.

Applications are accepted each year from September 1 through December 1 for upcoming vacancies for the following year. Current Town of Cary employees are not eligible to volunteer.
