Introduction of Members:
Members present: Jo Rathgeber, Anne Fitzpatrick, John Fitzpatrick, Jeff Gillette, Rob Rusczak, Robert Keely, Eugene Murray, and Rob Deal.  Members absent: Ed Quick and Geiselle Thompson.  

Council Member Harold Weinbrecht and former chairperson David Forvendel were also in attendance.  

Staff present: Susan Moran.
 

II.

Approval of Minutes:

The board unanimously recommended approval of the August 7, 2003 minutes as written.

III.

Citizen Comments:
Mr. Forvendel inquired about plans to incorporate Wi-Fi technology in Cary .  He noted that Winston-Salem currently offered the service and would like to see Cary follow.

IV.

Old/New Business:

1. Chat room – On-line forum which would give citizens an opportunity to speak about Cary issues.  It was suggest that the chat room be moderated.  It was suggested that Council consider a prepared list if there weren’t questions coming from citizens.
   
   
2. Mr. Weinbrecht stated that he would like the ISAB to discuss, refine, and make recommendations to Council after the election, perhaps at the Council retreat.  Mr. Weinbrecht also asked staff to research cities that host chat rooms, threaded discussion, and instant-messaging.
   
   
3. Board members also discussed the possibility of a call in TV show with email.  Mr. Weinbrecht noted that he wouldn’t want it to broadcast live, but rather have a moderate filter the questions before they air.
