I.

 

 Introduction of members:

Members present were David Forvendel, Eugene Murray, Jo Rathgeber, Robert Keely, Rob Deal, Jeffrey Gillette, Julie Cable and Geiselle Thompson. Members Sandy Gottlieb and Benjamin Rector were absent.

Staff present: Susan Moran.

II.

Approval of Minutes:

The board unanimously recommended approval of the June minutes as written.

III.

Citizen Comments:

Board Member Gillette spoke briefly about C.A.R.Y (Creating Assets Reaching Youth) and citizen interest in creating a task force.

IV.

Old/New Business:

  1. Web Overhaul Phase 4: The Board discussed Phase 4 of the Web overhaul process. Members discussed the idea of implementing a layer of personalized information about Cary in a section called "My Cary". Members also discussed database publishing and the search engine, noting that both areas could be outsourced. Members discussed adding a standard "unsubscribe" button to the existing mailing list server and making HTML the format of the electronic mailing list messages. Members also noted that more utilization should be made of the "splash" page and discussed the option of web polling.
