Old/New
Business:
- Ms.
Rathgeber reported to the board about her meeting with Council Member
Nels Roseland, the ISAB Council liaison.
Ms. Rathgeber provided the board with a written summary of her
meeting with Mr. Roseland and touched on several of the key points
they discussed including accessibility of commuter information on the
Web, the possibility of creating a Cary Homeowners’ Association
registry complete with links from their Web sites to the Town’s, and
whether or not the ISAB should staff a booth at the Lazy/Spring Daze
events.
- Item
#6 on 2003 ISAB Goals. Board
members discussed additional ways to obtain citizen feedback on the
Town’s information dissemination efforts. Board
members suggested a Web-based poll for the years in which the biennial
survey is not conducted and inquired about the feasibility/possibility
of Town staff to provide feedback on the 24-Hour Town Hall System.
- Item
# 13 on 2003 ISAB Goals. Board
members discussed the possibility of having a Cary HOA registry and
establishing links to and from the Town’s site to the HOA’s sites.
After lengthy discussion, a motion was made and seconded to
table this item until the next meeting.

Comments:
Ms. Fitzpatrick noted that she
couldn’t locate the number for C-Tran in the phonebook.
She suggested the number be added.
Ms. Thompson noted
that a citizen complained about signage information with regard to street
signs and numbering.
Mr. Fitzpatrick noted
that on Interstate 40 East, coming from the airport, that was no clear
signage for
Cary
, only for
Raleigh
. He
noted that he’d seen several cars maneuver hazardously to change exits
at the last minute. Mr. Murray
noted that there was a similar situation in Apex from Highway 64.
Mr. Murray noted that the intersection signage at Waldo Rood and several
other intersections was confusing and difficult to read as well.
