I.

Introduction of Members:

Members present were Jo Rathgeber, Robert Keely, Kelly Commiskey, Jamie Cuticchia, Michelle Hillison, Anne Fitzpatrick, John Fitzpatrick, Eugene Murray, and Dean Smith.   

Council Member Julie Robison and staff members Susan Moran and Roger May were present.

II.

Approval of Minutes:

The board unanimously recommended approval of the May 6, 2004 minutes as written.

III.

Citizen Comments:

1. Jo Rathgeber – noted that she picked up a City of Raleigh magnet, which listed key City numbers and thought it might be something for Cary to pursue.  

2. Robert Keely – tremendously impressed with PRCR’s outreach efforts re: mailings, advertising, branding.

IV.

Old/New Business:

1.  Wi-Fi Subcommittee members Michelle Hillison and Kelly Commiskey reported to the Board regarding their presentation to the Economic Development Commission on May 18, 2004 . Ms. Hillison noted that EDC members were inquisitive; however they wondered if this item was within their purview as a commission.  

2.  Board members discussed at length the concept of reaching out to citizens not connected directly to Town information services (those in apartment complexes or subdivisions not represented by HOAs). After a lengthy discussion, the Board recommended to table this item until the September 2004 meeting.  

3. Staff liaison Susan Moran reminded the Board about the Town’s media relations policy.

V.

Member Comments:

1. Eugene Murray – complimented staff on the new bulletin board on Cary TV11. Also inquired about how the Town purchases advertising.  

2. Kelly Commiskey – suggested staff send a PDF version of BUD to apartment complex managers for them to print and distribute to their residents.
