INFORMATION SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD
MINUTES

Thursday, March 23rd, 2000
6:00 PM

Town Hall, Building A, Front Conf. Room
316 N. Academy St., Cary, NC
 

I.

 Introduction of members:
Member Present: Cliff Barnes, Jeffrey Gillette, Sandy Gottlieb, Bob Hickey, Jim Jensen, Robert Keely, Jo Rathgeber, and Lester Thomas.

Staff Present: Neil Ghodke and Susan Moran

II.

 Approval of the Minutes:
The board approved the of Minutes of the February 24th regular meeting and the March 2nd special goals-setting meeting.

III.

 Citizen Comments:
There was one citizen comment mentioned of campaign funding and signage
guidelines. Susan Moran advised the board that signage issues are handled by
the Zoning Enforcement Branch of the Planning & Zoning Division and that signage guidelines are on our website. She also stated that the Zoning Enforcement crews confiscate signs in violation and mail out violation notices to that fact.

IV.

 Old/New Business:

1. Brainstorming additional GTV programming ideas.

  • Farmers Market
  • Animal Services
  • "Good Morning" Promos
  • Solid Waste Reduction
  • Christmas Parade
  • Internet simulcasts of meetings
  • Police Ride-Along

2. Review draft goals for 2000-2001, prioritize, and finalize for a vote.
Each board member is to email at least 3 general goals with one action
item per goal to Gina Eatman-Bingham before the next meeting and she will
incorporate an unnamed Goals list from all responses.

3. Set timeline/schedule for tasks associated with approved goals
The board agreed that at the next meeting, to review and discuss all goals
and vote.

4. Evaluating Communications - Susan Moran will review how the Town evaluates communications efforts.
This item has been moved to the next meeting. Also Bill Stice will be attending the April 27th meeting.

V.

 Member Comments:
The board elected a vice-chair, Cliff Barnes to fill in when the Chair, David Forvendel is unable to attend.

 Adjournment:
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10PM.
