Amendments to Schedules (Speed Limit) (PD08-013)
Consideration of adoption of an ordinance amendment to the Town Code Sec. 34‑333, Schedule XIII designating Del Webb Avenue to be limited to speeds of 30 mph

It is requested that council amend Chapter 34-333, Schedule XIII of the Town Code to add Del Webb Ave. to this Schedule with a 30 mph speed limit.  The ordinance amendment follows.

Ordinance Amendment

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF CARY, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, TOWN OF CARY, BE AMENDED

BY REVISING SECTION 34-333, SCHEDULE XIII OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR:

Sec. 34-333. Schedule XIII: Speed limit on through highways and state maintained streets.

In accordance with the provisions of section 34-149, the following streets are hereby designated as through highways and state maintained streets on which speed limits are specified except where school zones are otherwise designated by signs:

Add:

Del Webb Ave. from its intersection with O’Kelly Chapel Rd. south to its intersection with Yates Store Rd.  -  30 mph

Section 3.  This ordinance shall become effective on the 10^th day of January 2008.

Adopted the 10^th day of January 2008.

Staff Recommendation:  Staff recommends approval of the ordinance amendment.
