It is requested that council amend Chapter 34 of the Town Code to add stop streets.  The ordinance amendment follows:

Ordinance Amendment

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF CARY, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, TOWN OF CARY, BE AMENDED

BY REVISING SECTION 34-329 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR

Sec. 34-329.  Schedule IX: Designated Stop Streets.

In accordance with the provisions of section 34-111, the following streets, and such other streets as may from time to time be designated by proper ordinance, shall be stop streets at their intersection with the streets named and when properly marked with a regulation stop sign or a flashing red light.

Section 3.  This ordinance shall become effective on the 10^th day of January 2008.

Adopted the 10^th day of January 2008.

Staff Recommendation:  Staff recommends approval of the ordinance amendment.
