Subject: Western Cary Driving Tour

Present: Mayor Pro Tem Jack Smith, Council Members Jennifer Robinson, Julie Robison and Nels Roseland

Absent: Mayor Ernie McAlister, Council members Marla Dorrel and Mike Joyce

Council members and staff departed from the Town hall south entrance visitors’ parking lot at 10 a.m.

Council members were provided with a map of the area. They followed a route along Green Level West, Green Level Church , Weldon Ridge Boulevard , Cary Glen Boulevard, Green Level to Durham and returned along NC 55. (A map of the area is attached to and incorporated in these minutes as Exhibit A.)

The following sites were visited:  Stonecreek Village, West Cary Pump Station, Mills Tract, Gable Tract, Weldon Ridge, Cary Park, Amberly, Cameron Pond, Horton tract, Weycroft, The American Tobacco Trail, Hills of Rosemont, Stonewater, Village at the Park, Kit Creek Metering Station, Alston ACCP, Panther Creek High School, Highcroft Village, USA Baseball, Highcroft Subdivision, Sears Farm Park, and The Reserve.

Council members asked questions and staff provided responses to a variety of questions related to the following subjects:

• Infrastructure like planned roads, water, sewer and other utilities
• Clearing activities and erosion control requirements
• Housing density, construction quality and architecture
• Landscape and tree save requirements

The tour ended with everyone returning to Town hall at approximately 12:15 p.m.
