SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OF THE CARY TOWN COUNCIL  
November 9, 2004
Town Council Chambers, 101 Wilkinson Avenue, Cary, NC
Purpose: To continue the hiring process for the Town Attorney Position

Present: Mayor Ernie McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Jack Smith, Council Members Marla Dorrel, Julie Robison and Nels Roseland.

Absent: Council Members Mike Joyce and Jennifer Robinson

Mayor Ernie McAlister called the meeting to order at 6:49 p.m.

ACTION: Mayor Pro Tem Smith made a motion for closed session pursuant to G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6) to consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, conditions of appointment or conditions of initial employment of a town attorney. Mrs. Robison provided the second and council granted unanimous approval.

At 8:18 p.m. , the following council members returned from closed session back into open session: Mayor Ernie McAlister, Mayor Pro Tem Jack Smith, Council Members Marla Dorrel and Nels Roseland.

ACTION: At 8:18 p.m. , Mr. Roseland made a motion to adjourn, Ms. Dorrel provided the second, and council granted unanimous approval. (Council Member Robison was not officially excused from the meeting, so the record reflects an “aye” vote for her regarding this motion.)
