Historic Preservation Master Plan Advisory Committee
Purpose
The Town of Cary Planning Department, with assistance from the consulting firm of Thomason & Associates, is beginning a year-long historic preservation planning process that will culminate in late 2009 with a Town-wide Historic Preservation Master Plan to guide the Town of Cary's future preservation decisions. The plan will establish a Town-wide vision for preservation with supporting goals, objectives, and implementation strategies.
Advisory Committee Role
The main purpose of the Historic Preservation Master Plan Advisory Committee is to provide feedback and advice to the project consultants about the historic preservation goals the Town should pursue. Committee member responsibilities included:
- Attend Advisory Committee meetings
- Act as a sounding board for ideas for the plan
- Review draft products and provide comment
- Act as a liaison to "get the word out" into the community
- Provide insight into public sentiment
