Marvelous Music Mainstage Series: Donald Sinta Quartet
Cary Arts Center, 7:30 p.m.
Since forming in November of 2010, the Donald Sinta Quartet, comprised of four saxophonists, has quickly achieved international renown for its recitals and concerto performances. The DSQ’s repertoire spans centuries and encompasses the great string quartet repertoire of Dvorak, Schubert, and Shostakovich, as well as numerous saxophone standards and several new commissions and premieres by today’s emerging young composers. Marvelous Music Family Series: The Story Ship presents Diggery Diggers’ Dino Show
Cary Arts Center, 10 a.m.
While Paleontologist Diggery Diggers is sharing his dinosaur fossils, he discovers a “top secret” box the museum accidentally packed. Curious, Diggery opens the box and unleashes the DinoSauroScope 3000 (DINA) taking the audience back in time. Intriguing magic and rocking music keep the beat while audience members interact with animated dinosaurs, scan with the DINA, solve puzzles, and dance. Come along for an adventure with Diggery to help stop the dinosaur invasion! Town of Cary & Clayton Piano Festival present From Russia with Love
Cary Arts Center, 7:30 p.m.
Emmy Award winning radio producer, author, and teacher, David Dubal, hosts this fascinating look at works from Russian romanticism, performed by young international virtuoso pianist, Nikita Galaktionov. Dubal and Galaktionov take you on a musical tour of Russia, visiting old war horses as well as obscure classics, giving insightful readings, and entertaining commentary to make the music come alive. Philharmonic Association: Triangle Youth Jazz Fall Concert
