Traffic Alert – Large Crowds Anticipated in Cary for SAS Championship

  • The Town of Cary is advising citizens to expect heavy traffic around central Cary’s Prestonwood Country Club and near the intersection of High House Road and Cary Parkway on October 13-15 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Additionally, elevated crowds are expected on Friday, October 13 for Food Truck Friday from 4–8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 14 for the O2 Fitness 5K at the SAS Championship from 7–9 a.m.
  • Citizens attending the tournament should use the public parking options at Fred G. Bond Metro Park and take advantage of free shuttle services starting at 8:45 a.m. on Friday and Sunday, and 6:45 a.m. on Saturday.  

In advance of the annual SAS Championship, the Town of Cary is advising citizens to expect heavy traffic around central Cary’s Prestonwood Country Club and near the intersection of High House Road and Cary Parkway on October 13-15 from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. each day. Even larger crowds are expected this year with the addition of players including John Daly, Steve Stricker, Vijay Singh and Nick Faldo to the likes of Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Tom Lehman, and Kenny Perry. Additionally, elevated crowds are expected on Friday, October 13 for Food Truck Friday from 4–8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 14 for the O2 Fitness 5K at the SAS Championship from 7–9 a.m.
