Cary, N.C. – It’s back! The fourth and final Downtown Chowdown food truck rodeo of the year brings music, food, drinks and lots of fun to Chatham Street between Harrison Avenue and Walker Street on October 1 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. More than 24 Triangle-area food trucks and vendors will set up shop, including Baguettaboutit, American Meltdown, Pie Pushers, Two Roosters Ice Cream and Carolina Brewery. Seating areas will be available and local musicians, including headliner Mikemickxer and the Kaylin Roberson Band, will perform on Academy Street throughout the event. For youth, a kids area is planned at Fidelity Bank Plaza with fun and games for all; for adults, a beer garden with 3 breweries and a winery will fill the front yard of the Ivey Ellington house at 135 W. Chatham Street. Leashed pets are allowed.
“Downtown Chowdown is thriving along Chatham and Academy Streets this year, and it just keeps getting better and better,” said Ryan O’Quinn, program specialist for outdoor arts events. “Once again this is a great selection of some of the best food trucks, beer and wine vendors and entertainment in the Triangle, and this time it plays out with comfortable fall temperatures to make for an enjoyable afternoon out.”
Parking is available in Downtown Cary and the parking deck at Cary Town Hall Campus, 121 Wilkinson Avenue. Accessible parking is reserved on N. Academy Street across from the Cary Depot at the Depot’s overflow parking lot.
In support of the event, Chatham Street will be closed from Harrison Avenue to Walker Street from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. North Academy Street will also be closed between Chatham Street and Cedar Street starting at 8:30 a.m. for set-up.
