Friday, June 9

Paint the Town Art Auction and Gala *NR*
Cary Arts Center
Silent Auction: 6-8:15 p.m.; Gala: 7-8:30 p.m.
Celebrate the arts with live music and dancing! Bid on of the artworks painted en plein air in Downtown Cary or the Town’s parks and greenways. Proceeds support local artists and a portion goes to the PRCR Relief for Recreation Fund. Event is free to the public. For more, call (919) 469-4069 or visit En Plein Air.

NC Symphony Summerfest 2017: Classics Under the Stars
Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

Hum along to familiar tunes from operas like Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours. Tap your toes with the racing rhythms of Copland’s Hoedown from Rodeo, a Dvořák Slavonic Dance, and Leroy Anderson’s extravaganza for strings, Fiddle Faddle. Music @ The Cary: Chuck Brodsky and Wyatt Easterling presented by Six String

Chuck Brodsky is a storyteller, songwriter, troubadour, and a modern day bard. With only his acoustic guitar and his voice he’ll draw you in with genuine, down-to-earth warmth and his quirky, finely crafted songs. Southern Closed Boys and Girls 12s Tennis Championships
Cary Tennis Park and Godbold Park, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Showcasing the top players in the entire USTA Southern Region, this is one event you won’t want to miss! Local players will be competing along with players coming from eight surrounding states. For more, visit Cary Tennis Park or call 462-2061.
