A Star is (Re)Born as the Town of Cary Debuts Restored Movie Theater with Grand Opening Weekend Activities
Citizens invited to two days of free movies, live entertainment

Following just over a year of renovation, the Town of Cary is reintroducing the community’s original 1940’s movie theater, The Cary, on February 22  with a “celluloid cutting” ceremony at 9:45 a.m. followed by movie screenings throughout the day: Waking Sleeping Beauty at 10:30 a.m., Goodbye Solo at 12:30 p.m., and Finding Nemo at 3 p.m. The films are followed by a live performance by Asheville’s One Leg Up at 7:30 p.m. to cap off opening night. Return February 23 for a special screening of Casablanca, which was originally released around the same time as the original theater’s opening. While all grand opening events are free, seating is limited and first come, first served. For more, search “The Cary Theater” at www.townofcary.org or call (919) 469-4061.
