“Julie is a well-rounded person and leader in our community of downtown. She is not only a friend but also a concerned neighbor and contributes to helping others all of the time. She creates inventive ways for all neighbors to assist in improving and networking with each other. Julie keeps the neighbors informed about upcoming events and coordinates events to have neighbors, children, etc. to participate. I have been a home owner here in the downtown area for about 3 ½ years and Julie is my neighbor and always lending me and others a helping hand and I am always grateful too.

We all have now been looking out for each others’ best interest thanks to Julie getting all of us together and forming a union among the neighborhoods in the downtown area. I can not thank her enough and would like to second Julie Cox be recognized and nominated as the Person with the Most Hometown Spirit in Cary.”

Sardinha states:

“Julie Cox is a true leader and fine representative of Cary. As a resident of historic downtown Cary, Julie is very active in her neighborhood and representing the concerns of her neighbors and the Town of Cary. Julie is one of the founders of The Downtown Turnaround (http://www.downtownturnaround.com), a grassroots, neighborhood organization that promotes awareness, provides a forum for discussion and that provides a voice of the downtown residents to the Town Council.

As a homeowner, Julie has invested in her property to make improvements to her house and yard that has had a ripple effect on her neighbors. In the time that Julie has lived in the neighborhood, house after house has followed her lead in making improvements and revitalizing the community. Julie is always ready to organize events to bring the neighborhood together for picnics in Urban Park, social gathering at local restaurants and important representation at Town Council Meetings. She reaches out to help neighbors in need and is always there to lend an ear to hear what is on the minds of those in her community.

Julie is an outstanding representative of the Town of Cary and is most deserving of recognition as the Person with the Most Hometown Spirit in Cary.”
