Household Garbage
The Town of Cary collects garbage weekly at the curb on the same day as yard waste collection. The Town provides rollout carts for household garbage that should be rolled to the curb each week. Household garbage is waste from interior household receptacles. It typically includes food scraps and other solid waste from food preparation. Household garbage should be contained in in your Town-provided rollout cart.
Recycling
The Cary Recycles program includes all Town of Cary solid waste customers and individually owned multi-family complexes. The Town collects recycling every other week on the same day as garbage and yard waste collection. Find your collection day on the Town’s Web site by using Maps Online. The Town uses a single stream recycling process that allows all accepted materials to be put together in your curbside cart or bin.
Yard Waste Collection
Yard waste consists of vegetative matter collected as a result of landscaping. Examples of yard waste include grass clippings, brush, leaves and limbs. Yard waste should be placed in reusable containers, paper bags, or securely tied bundles. Unfortunately, yard waste contained in plastic bags will not be collected.
