Emergency Response Team

The goal of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) is to deploy highly trained tactical personnel to the following types of situations: barricaded subjects, hostage situations, building searches where there is a high probability of a suspect being inside the building, and service of arrest or search warrants involving an elevated level of risk.

Emergency Response Team officers serve on the team part-time. Selection to the team is voluntary and requires compliance with stringent requirements. Each member participates in a continuous training program consisting of classroom and practical application in all types of situations. This includes barricaded suspects, hostage situations, and building searches, as well as service of search and arrest warrants involving an elevated level of danger. ERT members are also trained to search for missing persons on all types of terrain and under various weather conditions.
