The Herbert C. Young Community Center is transformed into an intimate concert hall for four incredible evenings of entertainment, featuring internationally acclaimed touring groups. Plan now to attend three or all four of these great performances through our season ticket package deals. This package saves you money on individual ticket prices, offers gold circle seating at the performances, and allows you to attend a VIP reception prior to each concert. In addition, 2010-2011 season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to reserve their seats for the 2011-2012 season, which will be held in Cary's new community arts center (opening in 2011).

Sofia, Melanie, Amanda, and Justin von Trapp are the great-grandchildren of Captain von Trapp, father of the famous singing family whose story captivated the world in the musical The Sound of Music. Carrying on their family’s traditions, the siblings travel the world, sharing their exceptional musical gifts through folk and classical songs from European and American traditions, as well as timeless pieces from The Sound of Music. They have recorded six albums and a DVD. Their latest recording is entitled A Cappella.
African Children’s Choir

For 25 years, the African Children’s Choir has been helping Africa’s most vulnerable children. The choir is made up of children between seven and eleven years old who come from Africa’s poorest villages. Children attend Music for Life camps in their villages where they play games, make crafts, eat nourishing meals, and learn about music. Children are chosen from this group to tour with the African Children’s Choir. After the tour, these children are educated and cared for in schools developed by the Choir. Funds raised by the Choir have also made it possible for the group to sponsor thousands of children throughout Africa, helping them become educated and escape the cycle of poverty.

Professional a cappella ensemble Chapter 6 hails from Illinois and is composed of six vocalists and one arranger. Their shows feature a light-hearted, high-energy blend of pop-jazz harmonies. Their diverse repertoire ranges from American popular songs including Gershwin and Stevie Wonder to original compositions and medleys.

Bassist, composer, educator and actor John Brown is a native of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and currently resides in Durham, NC. John has been performing professionally since his teens and currently directs the Jazz Program and teaches music at Duke University, while continuing to perform in multiple arenas. Of John’s ensembles, the John Brown Quintet sets the standard. This award-winning jazz group specializes in music from the time-honored Bebop and Hard Bop eras of jazz, bringing new life to some of the best-known classics while also introducing original music. The group garnered national attention when its first recording reached #8 on the national JazzWeek chart, and stayed in the top 50 for 16 consecutive weeks.
