Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel Concert Series

A series of intimate Sunday concerts held in the Main Gallery at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center and sponsored by the Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel. Season tickets are $75 and individual tickets are $15 each. Tickets may be purchased online at www.friendsofpagewalker.org or at the door (pending availability). November 15 - Guitarist David Burgess

David Burgess, who held the audience spellbound with his classical guitar repertoire during the 2008 Series, returns this year by popular demand. Praised by musicians and critics worldwide, Burgess is recognized as one of today’s outstanding guitarists. His international appearances as soloist and chamber musician have taken him to concert halls throughout North and South America, Europe and the Far East. Through his extensive travels in both Spain and Latin America, Burgess has explored traditional guitar styles, along with many popular and folkloric types of music. He has acquired one of the largest collections of Latin American guitar music in the U.S., from which he often draws interesting and unusual works for his programs.

January 24 - Little Windows

Little Windows creates a mix of Appalachian and Irish music and traditionally-based originals, with a special focus placed on unaccompanied ballads. Mark Weems and Julee Glaub tour together nationally and abroad with a focus on the art of the pure voice with tight harmonies in traditional songs. Instrumentation includes guitar, fiddle, banjo, flute, piano and bodhrán.
