REGISTRATION INFORMATION AND ENTRY FORM

The Cary Table Tennis Association (Cary TTA) and the Town of Cary host the 11th annual Cary Cup Table Tennis Championship, a nationally and internationally-recognized event.

Some of the top table tennis athletes in the United States, Canada, Europe and South America will compete for nearly $18,000 in total prize money in largest round robin table tennis competition in the USA. The tournament also features Para events, a special sandpaper racket event and a classic table tennis (hardbat) event reminiscent of table tennis played in the 1940’s. Spectators for the tournament are welcome, and spectator admission is free.

For beginner participants, several opportunities are available for lessons and play.  Preregistration for all events is required.  Click on the "registration and entry form" link above or contact Sam Trogdon at (919) 462-3971 for more information.

Thursday, March 15 - There will be a beginners clinic conducted at 4-5 p.m. (You must register in advance with the Town of Cary for this clinic, course code 56071).

New for 2012 are three Para events:

  • wheelchair women's event (5:30 p.m.)
  • men's standing singles event (6 p.m.)
  • wheelchair men's event (6:30 p.m.)

Friday, March 16 - There are three events designed for beginners.

  • classic hardbat event (10 a.m.- 3 p.m.)
  • open singles event (10 a.m.-3p.m.)
  • under 1500 event (3-9 p.m.)

Pre-registration is required and you may only register for one of the events starting at 10 a.m., but you may register for both a morning and afternoon event if desired. As the event fills up very rapidly weeks in advance, early registration is strongly suggested. Contact Sam Trogdon at (919) 462-3971 for details.

Saturday, March 17 - A giant round robin (the main event) will be held all day with the three lower groups (B, C, and D groups) finishing by 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 18 - A special sandpaper event will be held from 9a.m.-noon.  Preregistration is required.

If you prefer spectating, you can catch the Championship Finals of the top group of national and international stars as they compete for the main prize money from 9:30 a.m.-3p.m.
