CAROLINA RAILHAWKS CLINCH FIRST PLACE!
The Carolina RailHawks Clinched the NASL Regular Season Title with a regular season record of 17-8-3, giving them a total of 54 points, topping Puerto Rico who finished a close second with 52 points. CROSS COUNTRY KICKS OFF INTO HIGH GEAR
WakeMed Soccer Park continues to be a premier venue for elite cross country events. On September 16-17 the adidas Cross Country Challenge welcomed more than 2,000 high school and collegiate runners over the two day event.
Next up on the calendar is the Great American Cross Country Festival scheduled for September 30-October 1. An anticipated 2,500 runners are expected to compete in the two day event featuring collegiate races on Friday afternoon and a full day of high school races Saturday.
NCHSAA is holding the 3A and 4A Regional Championships October 29. Runners compete to qualify to advance to the state finals the following weekend at Beeson Park in Kernersville. For more information, visit the NCHSAA website.
WakeMed's cross country fall season concludes with the Nike NXN Southeastern Regional Cross Country meet. More than 600 elite runners will converge in Cary to compete for a chance to advance to the NXN National Championships. For more information.
ACC SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIPS RETURN TO WAKEMED FOR THE 9th TIME
WakeMed Soccer Park has played host to the Men's, Women's or both Scooer Championships each year since 2003. The Town of Cary is excited to again be hosting the both the Men's and Women's Championships. Currently Maryland, North Carolina and Boston College are all ranked in the top 25 on the men's side. For the women's seven of the eleven teams are ranked in the top 25 including Duke,North Carolina, Wake Forest, Florida State, Maryland, Boston College and Virginia. Be sure to come out and support the best collegiate soccer conference. The ACC Women's Championships will be played November 4 & 6 while the Men Championship can be seen November 11 & 13. PLANS UNDERWAY FOR STADIUM IMPROVEMENTS
The Town is working with an architectural firm to design stadium improvements as identified in the WakeMed Soccer Park Master Plan. Phase 1 of the improvements include additional seating for 3,000, two additional team locker rooms, and indoor multipurpose space. Find out more at the project page.
