The Administration Group administers the day-to-day activities of the Fire/Rescue Department as it interacts with the public, Town departments, other governmental agencies, and the media. It prepares and administers the annual budget and reviews and revises current service levels. It manages an ongoing training program in order to maintain state firefighter and emergency rescue technician certifications. In addition, the Administration Group provides support for the Suppression and Risk Management groups.

The Fire Department currently employs 209 employees who serve a population of more than 136,000 in a 55.4 square mile area. The Town’s public protection rating (ISO) is 3.
