Sealed proposals will be received by the Town of Cary at the office of the Engineering Department, to the attention of “Ms. Betsy Drake”, 316 North Academy Street, Cary, North Carolina 27513 until Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 3 p.m. and thereafter immediately opened and read publicly at the Town of Cary Engineering Department Conference Room for the furnishing of materials, labor, and equipment for the construction of:

CONTRACT 7 - WEST REEDY BRANCH AND BEAVER CREEK GRAVITY SEWERS
AND WEST CARY FORCE MAINS
Town of Cary Project No. SW1145, SW1178, SW1179, and SW1144

This contract includes furnishing, installing, and placing into successful operation approximately 5,162 linear feet of 54-inch; 6,350 linear feet of 48-inch; 3,589 linear feet of 42-inch, and 357 linear feet of 36-inch gravity sewer, 22,982 linear feet of 30-inch force main and associated appurtenances, site work, grading, manholes, air release/vacuum valves, plug valves, valve vaults, junction box, odor control system, roadway crossings (bores), tunnel, flushing, and testing as specified and shown or implied in these contract documents.

Drawings, Specifications and Bidding documents may be reviewed electronically and purchased at http://townofcary.contractorsplanroom.com upon registering online after Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Hard copies of drawings, plans and bidding documents may be reviewed at the office of the Director of Engineering, Cary Town Hall, the office of the Engineer after Tuesday, January 10, 2012. The following agencies have been notified of the project: the Associated General Contractors, Raleigh office; McGraw-Hill Construction Dodge at www.mghims.com; the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development, Durham office; and the Cary office of CDC News.

Copies of Plans, Specifications and Bidding documents may be obtained after January, 10 2012 from the Engineer upon non-refundable payment per set in cash or check, as follows (Add $25 for mailing):

Set with One-Half Size Drawings: $200
Set with Full-Size Drawings: $400

A pre-bid conference will be held at the time and place indicated in the Instructions to Bidders section of the documents. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is mandatory for those potential Bidders that plan to submit a Bid.

Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. A Town of Cary Privilege License in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes is required for award of the project. All bids must include a non-collusive affidavit.

Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.

The Town of Cary reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
