Invitation to Bid - Black Creek Greenway, Phase III
TOWN OF CARY
Sealed proposals will be received by the Town of Cary at the office of the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department, 316 North Academy Street, Cary, North Carolina until Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. and thereafter immediately opened and read publicly for the furnishing of materials, labor, and equipment for the construction of The Black Creek Greenway, Segment 3, Phase III, Project No. PR1050. A brief project description is as follows:
This Project consists of the construction of a 10-foot wide multi-use trail, approximately .56 miles in length. The project also includes the construction of a 30-foot pedestrian bridge, 12’ wide. The project begins on NW Maynard Road and terminates at Castalia Drive.
Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be seen at the Town of Cary Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department – Cary Town Hall, 316 North Academy Street, Cary, NC; the Associated General Contractors, Raleigh office; and the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development, Durham office after Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.
Copies of Plans, Specifications and Contract documents may be obtained after Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the office of the Town of Cary, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department, 316 North Academy Street, Cary, North Carolina 27513 upon non-refundable payment of $50 per plan set, in cash or check.
A pre-bid meeting will be held with the Engineer and Owner on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cary Town Hall, 316 North Academy Street, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources, Conference Room #11130 to discuss the project and answer pertinent questions. No oral interpretations will be made as to the meaning of the Contract Documents. Interpretation, if deemed necessary, will be in the form of a written Addendum.
Contractors offering a proposal on this project must be licensed to do the specified type of contracting in the State of North Carolina. All Contractors bidding on the project must be Pre-Qualified by NCDOT. “The July 2006 North Carolina Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures, herein referred to as the “Standard Specifications”, shall apply to all portions of this project except as modified by this document.”
A Town of Cary Privilege License in accordance with North Carolina General Statutes is required for award of the project. All bids must include a non-collusive affidavit. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instruction to Bidders.
The Town of Cary reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
