Swift Creek Parallel Force Main
Overview
The Swift Creek Parallel Force Main project is the next phase of the Swift Creek Pump Station expansion project. This new force main will help carry the increasing flows between the pump station and the South Cary Water Reclamation Facility. Although it is not needed for capacity, the new line is being built now so that maintenance can occur on the existing force main which cannot otherwise be taken out of service.
Description – 17,000 feet of force main pipeline along Holly Springs Road and Ten-Ten Road between the Swift Creek Pump Station and Lawdraker Road. 3,000 feet of gravity interceptor from Lawdraker Road to an existing sewer interceptor near the Jamison Park Subdivision.
Status – Project is 45% complete (by length) and will be completed by October 2012. The following activities will occur (weather permitting) from February through April:
- Clearing and grading will continue northward along Holly Springs Road from Ten Ten Road
- Boring operations will continue along Holly Springs Road at the north end of the project
- Gravity sewer pipe installation will continue along Bentgrass Court
- Force main sewer pipe installation will continue along Holly Springs Road north of Ten Ten Road
- Testing of the force main and gravity sewer will begin along Ten Ten Road, Lawdraker Road, and points south toward the Jamison Park subdivision
