The project will require periodic lane closures and traffic shifts on the roadways through the duration of construction. Work will be performed Monday through Sunday with every effort to minimize impact to the traveling public. Work may also be performed on the evenings and weekends.

Work will consist of milling, narrow widening, traffic signal loop replacements, utility adjustments, paving, shoulder reconstruction and new pavement markings. Night work is anticipated on US 1 from Tryon Road (SR1009) to the Chatham County Line.
