How to subscribe

Step 1: Get a news reader
To start using RSS, you need a news reader that displays RSS content feeds. There are many different news readers available, many of which are free of charge. The news readers vary somewhat in form and function, so you may want to try a few before picking one.

An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader, such as readers provided by Microsoft, Google and Yahoo.This will enable you to access your RSS feed without having to run a special program.

Step 2: Sign Up for Feeds
To add the Town of Cary feed to your news reader:

  • Copy the URL (web address) for the Town's RSS page: http://www.townofcary.org/Page20162.rss 
  • Open your news reader
  • Select New Channel, Subscribe, etc.
  • Paste in the URL
  • Follow prompts as directed
