Surveys and Research
Overview
Because citizens' opinions are an important factor in making the best decisions for the community, the Town of Cary obtains their input in a number of ways. From open houses to public hearings, the Town offers the full range of traditional government communication opportunities.
But Cary has gone further than most local or even state governments by initiating a program of regular research as part of its comprehensive communications effort. To gauge effectiveness in achieving its mission, the Town believes that it must accurately measure citizens' satisfaction with, and confidence in, their local government.
Focus on Cary
Focus on Cary is a continuing initiative expanding efforts to find out what citizens think on important policy issues. The Town plans to collect opinion in three major ways:
- Focus Groups
- Web Polls
- Mail Surveys
Biennial Citizen Surveys
Every two years the Town conducts a scientific telephone survey of Cary citizens. The survey focuses on services and operations issues.
