Cary's Ridgeview Water Storage Tank to Receive Fresh Coat of Paint Inside and Out
Open House Scheduled For Those With Questions
Cary, NC – Contractors working on behalf of the Town of Cary will begin repainting the Ridgeview Drive Water Tank in central Cary on March 5, weather permitting. Located east of the intersection of Kildaire Farm Road and SE Cary Parkway, the project will extend the life of the 17-year-old tank by 15 years, ensuring its continued safe storage of drinking water. Work is planned from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday, through Fall 2012. No service disruptions or traffic impacts are expected.
“As always, safe and environmentally sound practices will be used during the surface restoration,” said Town of Cary Utility Systems Manager Ken Schuster.
For those with questions, an open house will be hosted by the project team on Monday, February 20 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop on the Cary Town Hall campus.
The 167-foot tall Ridgeview Drive elevated water tank was put into service in 1994. It holds 1 million gallons of water and is one of seven storage tanks in the Town’s water distribution system.
