The Kids Together Playground at Marla Dorrel Park, 111 Thurston Drive, will close for landscaping and maintenance work for six days in early February. During the first closure, set for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012, the Cary Teen Council has volunteered to for a beautification project to plant flowers, along with ground cover and border plants. The Cary Teen Council has committed to care for this facility through the Spruce Program’s new initiative, Adopt a Spot.  All other areas of the park will remain open, including Hinshaw Greenway. The Kids Together Playground will close again Monday, February 6 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, February 10 for routine maintenance, including pressure washing and minor repairs.
