September 11, 2012
CARY, NC – Autumn is in the air and the Fall Sertoma Series will open this weekend with back-to-back free concerts at Cary’s Sertoma Amphitheatre in Fred G. Bond Metro Park, 801 High House Road. The popular Cary Town Band will take the stage Friday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. with a concert full of “Sticky Music,” or catchy melodies and tunes that often get stuck in your head. Saturday, September 15, the Triangle Brass Band will perform “Pops in the Park,” a collection of light marches and classical music, musicals, and traditional brass tunes; the concert begins at 7 p.m. In the event of inclement weather before either concert, attendees are encouraged to call (919) 469-3969 for updates.
“Fall is slowly creeping into Cary, and what better way to celebrate its arrival than with free outdoor concerts this weekend,” said Sarah Preston, Performing Arts Coordinator.
Remaining concerts as part of this series include Brass at Bond on Sunday, September 30 and NewFound Road on Saturday, October 20; both concerts begin at 2 p.m. For more information, search “Fall Sertoma Series” at www.townofcary.org or call (919) 462-4069.
