The Town of Cary has extended the lane closures at Jenks Road from Highway 55 to approximately 500 feet west, near the Peak Plaza entrance through December 9, 2010 to allow for proper testing prior to returning to normal operations. The detours will remain in place, directing motorists along one of two detours utilizing N.C. 55, Green Level Church Road, Green Level West Road, Roberts Road or U.S. 64. During construction, delays are expected and drivers are encouraged to follow the posted detours or consider avoiding the area completely since the closure will be in effect continuously, including during morning and evening commutes. The work is necessary to prepare Town of Cary waterlines for relocation due to the construction of the North Carolina Turnpike Authority’s Western Wake Freeway.
