Town of Cary Contractors to Conduct Stormwater Infrastructure Inventory
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 19, 2010
In our continuing effort to be good stewards of the environment, field crews working on behalf of the Town of Cary will be conducting a survey of stormwater structures in the Cape Fear River Basin over the course of the next eight months beginning February 22. The areas to be studied are generally west of Highway 55 and also areas west of Davis Drive and south of High House Road within town limits. Citizens may notice temporary paint markings on stormwater structures that will fade over time. The project will assist in creating a new GIS mapping layer as well as help determine capital improvement needs and annual maintenance requirements for the drainage system. This area represents the final phase of inventory, and when complete, all 55 square miles of Cary will have been inventoried. For more information about the process, visit Stormwater Projects at www.townofcary.org or call (919) 469-4038.
