Cary Town Band Presents Sea Songs in First Sertoma Series Concert

CARY, NC – Anchors aweigh! The Cary Town Band invites you to ride the waves of familiar music inspired by the tales of the sea at its concert Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park, 801 High House Road, Cary. This concert, set for 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.

“We are proud to open our Spring Sertoma Series with the Cary Town Band,” said Sarah Preston, Performing Arts Coordinator. “The Sertoma Series provides free fun outdoor cultural events of the highest caliber for families, and the Cary Town Band is just one of many exciting performances we have scheduled for the community.”

From marches to waltzes to light classical music, Sea Songs will be a musical celebration of the sea. Renditions of Anchors Aweigh, Glory of the Yankee Navy, Gliere’s Russian Sailor’s Dance, Guadalcanal March from Victory at Sea and Pirates of the Caribbean Suite will have guests humming along all night. Sousa’s Queen of the Sea waltzes and Rosas’ Over the Waves will also be performed.
